Caps & Gowns
Caps and gowns will be distributed at the Convocation Center. Please use entrance 2 or 5 on Thursday and Friday. Use any entrance on Saturday.
• Thursday, May 15th from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.
• Friday, May 16th from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.
• Saturday, May 17th from 7:30 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
The NIU Commencement ceremonies are a traditional graduation ceremony where graduates wear black robes and a black mortar board. Master's and Doctoral students will be provided with a hood in a color representing their particular degree. Academic Honor Pins, Ribbons, Insignias, Cords and Academic Sashes are allowed, as well as Mortar Board Senior Honor Society Medallions. The Robes, Caps and Hoods are to be returned after the recessional immediately following the ceremony. |
